Documentation of Community Notice of Intent to Apply
This notice is to inform you that Makaha Elementary School is applying for the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant. If approved, the 21st CCLC program will provide students and their families with academic enrichment opportunities and support services to help meet state and local standards in core content areas.
Our proposed after-school program will include free after-school enrichment, physical wellbeing, social-emotional, and culturally relevant learning activities, as well as academic support. Academic supports include STEM, math and reading intervention and tutorial. Enrichment and physical wellbeing activities include classes such as cooking, basketball, flag football, soccer, fitness, arts and crafts, media, dance, photography and more. Should the need arise, we will provide virtual/online programs for students. We will offer opportunities for families and students to engage in family-focused events that showcase student work and performances, as well as provide other educational opportunities for families.
